Never Enough—Companion course Coming soon

Deb Lang PsyD, RD; Licensed Psychologist

Does this describe you?

It seems that no matter how much you do it’s never enough—that you’re not enough.

Your whole day be ruined by a look or a comment.

You dream of feeling confident in your own skin—of trusting yourself.

And you never seem to get there.

Are you tired of feeling that way?

If so, I’d sure like to help. My gift and my passion as a psychologist is helping women connect and trust their own internal strength and wisdom.

Over the years so many intelligent, capable women have come to me believing they weren’t “enough.”

Most didn’t realize that they were basing their worth on the approval or opinions of others. They came to me because of the consequences of all that striving—because they were feeling overwhelmed, anxious, depressed, or were turning to food for comfort.

why take the class and not just read the book?

If you are like me, you start a book, feel excited about trying the ideas, and then feel frustrated to realize that you have totally forgotten about it.

Or maybe you have worked on the skills in the BLOOM model and can’t seem to remember to use them when you need them.

And then you end up getting down on yourself for not doing things differently.

All of these women fueled a passion in me—a desire to help women recognize the strong forces pulling them to seek approval and to help them out of this no-win struggle.

blame your brain—not yourself!

Both forgetting about plans to do things differently and reacting in the same way you always have reflect your brain’s preference for efficiency. Using well-established routes is much more efficient than creating new ones. Why take a road under construction when you could take a highway?

And because the connection between self-worth and approval is often linked with safety in the brain, knowledge alone is rarely enough to change these patterns.

The good news is that whatever you do, think, feel, or imagine with enough frequency, the brain creates the structure to support it, making it easier and more natural in the future. In this way, new “roads” in the brain turn into “highways.”

And with enough exposure and practice, new skills can become the highway of choice.

My clients have consistently shared with me that it was the repeated exposure to the ideas and skills that made change possible.

I’ve seen what can happen when women give themselves the support they need to start trusting their own wisdom, and I want that for you!

you won’t be alone

Reading a book can feel isolating. Most women already feel isolated by these struggles.

And what do you do if you don’t understand something or get stuck?

In this class, through the recordings, I will be there with you whenever you need support or a review. I will introduce you to all the topics and skills, and you will have recordings of me leading you through the practices.

With the recordings you can practice as much as you need, and they will be right there at your fingertips when you need them the most—no need to find the book and look it up.

I will also nudge you to look at what is keeping you stuck, and you will have the chance to give and receive feedback with others sharing a similar journey.

here’s what you will learn:

Connect with with your own inner wisdom and larger sources of support like the spiritual or the energy of the universe.
  • Why the pull for approval isn’t personal—there are strong forces pulling women to seek approval
  • How a learned pattern of relating or an intimacy style keeps women feeling trapped and unsafe to trust themselves
  • Specific skills to help you,
    • build a strong internal foundation connected with your own internal wisdom and strength
    • face disapproval and know you are okay
    • identify underlying, outdated assumptions which may be keeping you stuck

These skills will help you

  • Feel more confident, comfortable, and secure in your own skin
  • Communicate your needs while dealing with disagreement and disapproval
  • Give yourself time to relax and do the things you enjoy
  • Align with your greatest desires and purpose
  • Bloom into all you want and were meant to be.

Now more than ever, looking outside for approval leaves women feeling vulnerable and unsafe. I don’t want this for you. Let’s get you connected with the treasure chest of wisdom and security that’s right inside you.

What is the support you need in order to say with conviction,

“I deserve to be me—even if others disagree”

Will reading the book be enough? Will you stay motivated to practice the skills?

Or, would it help to have more exposure to the ideas and skills and hear me explaining them and helping you practice?

Or do you have a trauma history, and is having the support of a therapist in your area the best fit?

What will your life be like if you give yourself the support that is just right for you?

Will your day no longer be ruined when someone disapproves? Will you say “no” when you know it isn’t in your best interest? Will you be trusting your own judgment and feeling strong and proud?

And what will it be like if you don’t give yourself the support you need?

Will you be exhausted? Will your health suffer? Or will you struggle with anxiety or depression or find yourself turning to food because of a fear of disapproval or giving past your limits?

Because, Isn’t this your time to bloom?

I can’t imagine you want that for yourself, so please take the time to consider the support you will need to bloom and blossom into the most radiant version of yourself.
